Ayurvedic Indian Head Massage

A CMA accredited course

In Ayurvedic medicine, Indian Head Massage is revered as one of the most therapeutically powerful therapies available.

The Mind-Body Medical Diploma in Indian Head Massage will provide you with all of the theoretical and practical knowledge to deliver this powerfully restorative Ayurvedic treatment:.

Over the duration of our online Indian Head Massage Diploma, you will:

  • Be introduced to Ayurveda as a holistic science of health and medicine.
  • Learn about the three Doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) relevant to delivering and performing Indian Head Massage.
  • Learn how to assess the Dosha of your patient/client
  • Learn about the core medicated oils of Ayurveda that are used when performing Indian Head Massage and why they offer such powerful therapeutic benefits.
  • Receive full practical training in how to deliver the full sequence of traditional Ayurvedic Indian Head Massage.
  • Learn the key Marma (acupressure) points in the head and neck region that can be used during Indian Head Massage and how to use and work on these Marma points to alleviate various symptoms.
  • Learn how to adapt Ayurvedic Indian Head Massage techniques and choose Ayurvedic oils to suit a client's body constitution or Dosha.

Course Delivery: The Diploma is delivered via a combination of text based PDF's and video. When learning practical massage treatments, this mode of delivery comes with a significant advantage; you will have continual access to detailed video instruction on how to perform Indian Head Massage unlike classroom based learning in which once the course has finished there is no ongoing recorded instructional videos to embed learning. There is also the option of adding on a one to one coaching session, and equipment if you would like. Students will need to dedicate approximately 150 hours to this course.

Accreditation: This course is fully accredited by the prestigious CMA (Complementary Medical Association) and upon successful completion you will receive a CMA accredited diploma in Ayurvedic Indian Head Massage, and we recommend BGi for insurance.

Assessment: To graduate from this diploma, you will need to complete and submit 5 case studies. For each case study, you will need to conduct a brief Dosha assessment using the assessment tools provided, perform a full Indian Head Massage treatment on your case study and provide a reflective write up on why they patient was having the treatment. You will also need to explain how you customised the treatment to meet the patients requirements and your own experiences of delivering the treatment.

Who is this course for? This course is ideally suited to those with an interest in learning about the theory and practical delivery of Indian Head Massage. It would suit those who wish to use this technique to support the health and well-being of their friends and family but is equally suited to those currently working in another therapeutic area (yoga teachers, osteopaths, physiotherapists, massage therapist, Ayurvedic practitioners or therapists etc) who wish to integrate this powerful form of healing into the services they are able to offer to their patients.
